The Tab Mix Plus session manager was one of the first of its kind and allowed users to group tabs to open at the same time. The Session Manager featured in Tab Mix Plus became so popular with users that other extension developers copied the feature to release a new extension alongside the release of Firefox Quantum. This granular control was great for creating sessions for performing specific tasks.
For example, if a user opened a link directly from a bookmark, this extension could focus those tabs immediately without making it the default behavior for all links clicked on the internet. One interesting feature of this extension was the ability to choose which tabs gain focus based on the link a user clicked. Overall Opinion: Until the release of Firefox Quantum in 2017, Tab Mix Plus was the best extension for managing your tabs in the Firefox browser.
